Our School Is was made back in 2009 by secondary and post 16 students. It bring s together a lot of the clips, experiments and ideas they all had about creatively describing their school.

Wherever Next is the film made with the other end of school – the primary pupils. Inspired by a story that they’d read – Whatever Next – in which a teddy blasts off to the moon in a cardboard box rocket, everyone balsted off on their own adventures, far beyond the moon, out to the planets, stars and beyond…

Another update – here’s a short spooky film made in one day by post 16 pupils. Not for the faint of heart!

Matts animation of a spider is juste xcellent! Completely hand drawn, on  white board, wiping away each picture and then drawing a new one… How many times?! Matt had a real talent for animation.

The good work just keeps on coming – we can’t stop finding more and more to upload to this blog. We’ll be old and grey by the time we’ve finished adding everything!

This time it’s the work of Halley, Georgina, Karl and Jack, with their signed and sung alphabet.

You all filmed and made SO much, and it’s all good! So we have to show it… We could be uploading video for the rest of our lives!

Jack and Karl finally finished this little film on the last day of the project, with the help of Tom from primary… They had the idea way back in January, it was worth the wait.

On our final day in school the primary pupils all had a taste of what the post 16 and secondary groups had been doing for the past 5 months – this is what they made, we love it!

One day filming, James just disappeared for about an hour, maybe longer. We now see what he was up too. Who knows how far he traveled, but we love the sounds and the sunlight – this reminds us how beautiful your school is.

Lauren animated different musical instruments over a few weeks, recorded sounds and here’s the colourful, noisy result. This is really excellent, it’s great to finally see and hear them all together as a “band”.

Our 10 days in school are now finished, BUT there is so much more to add to this blog! Please keep coming back to visit this site – tell all of your friends and family to have a look too! As we make our way through all of the hundreds of photos, the music, film footage, animation clips we’ll try to keep adding what we find.

We can’t wait to put it all together and come back to school, for the Fountaindale Premiere in June! See you then…

Barry, Alan, and James  head off in search of sounds… This is an edited and cut-down view of their long journey around the school.

The noises they recorded got sampled, cut up, looped and used to make music for the films we’ve been working on.

We’ll try to upload more behind-the-scenes stuff later.

This week is ‘Africa Week’ in school, so they gathered up some animals and worked as at team to bring their own scene of Africa to life.  Well done everyone – we hope you’ll enjoy sharing this with others in school!

Last week pupils found and recorded sounds from around school – a buzzing machine in a cupboard, clinking cutlery, wheelchairs beeps and creaks, Tom beat-boxing, and much more.  This week they turned those everyday noises into something rather extraordinary!

We’ll be using some of this music to accompany the film that we’ve been making about school, but in the meantime you can have a listen to the unedited stuff here.  BEWARE – it’s quite spooky!

Wow! Some really excellent animation and ideas here. Hopefully you can see how the film is beginning to take shape. We put the spinning globe together with the stars that you made and the zooming-into-Earth animation, plus all the extra scenes. The animations are matching the words now, and once you all record some sounds and speaking parts it’ll be even better.
