Animation Software (where to get it)

January 28, 2009

A message for the Post 16 and Secondary students we’ve been working with at Fountaindale…

We’ve had another good day today, and we’ve been really impressed at how good you all are at animating and working together to make some great bits of film… We hope you’ve enjoyed it.   Some of you were asking about the animation software, so we thought we’d add a link to the free download you can get.

It’s called Animator DV – go to http://animatordv.com/download7

Copy the serial number, before clicking on Download Now. Work your way through the download prompts, and enter your serial number when asked… And that’s it! Get animating!

You’ll need a video camera connected to your computer with a firewire  cable (most video cameras have them these days).  If you want to give it a go, and need any help, you can use the blog to keep in touch until we see you at school again next week.

Also, keep your eye on the blog for more photos and your films that will be up here soon.

First Animations

January 14, 2009

We edited all the animation tests together. Well done everyone!

Pupils –  Just think what this would be like with some sounds! Or what it might look like if we added the green screen video of you spinning and flying, or… Use your imagination!

Thanks to the pupils and staff – we had a really fun first day today – our heads are brimming with ideas now… Don’t forget to share your ideas too, and post any pictures you’d like us to see or use.

Hello, how are you? As you can see we have found the website. We are all looking forward to seeing you tomorrow morning. We are looking forward to learning lots of new things.

Particularly looking forward to animation work. Just watched the lego animation of White Stripes: Fell In Love With A Girl song on http://www.boardsmag.com/screeningroom/musicvideos/220/. Over to you. There is a lego site that allows you to design and build models on screen in 3D. Then next week ..!!!!!!!!

Also watched at the same site Universal Everything’s “Forever” video wall at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum that uses light.

Looked at some writing with lights sites.
